The US may impose sanctions against another major Chinese company. We are talking about the manufacturer of video surveillance systems Hikvision. It is reported by the New York Times, citing its sources.
It is noted that the US Department of Commerce is soon preparing to require US companies to obtain a special license from the government for the supply of Hikvision components.
The relevant decision in the White House can be made in the near future. In this case, the company will actually be in the “blacklist” of the United States together with the already included Huawei Corporation.
Hikvision representatives have already responded to the information, saying that such restrictions will not affect the company’s activities.
“Even if the US stops selling chips, the company will be able to use other channels to make up for their shortage. For us it will not have any effect”, – quotes the representative of the developer portal Sina.
Hikvision is one of the largest manufacturers of video surveillance systems in the world. The company produces, in particular, road cameras, thermal imagers, and drones.
