The US Embassy in Tallinn announced the beginning of September 1 exercises in the framework of operation Rail Gunner Rush for live-fire training, conducted in cooperation with the Estonian defense forces.
“The forty-first field artillery brigade of the US army in Europe will deploy a multiple rocket launcher battery at the Central range of the Estonian defense forces in Tapa. From September 1 to 10, about 70 soldiers from the 1st battalion of the 6th field artillery regiment of the 41st brigade will conduct exercises with soldiers of the 1st infantry brigade of the Estonian defense forces, which will confirm the strong bilateral partnership between the United States and Estonia and will check the readiness and deployment of the brigade, as well as operational compatibility with NATO allies,” the Embassy said in a statement.
The US diplomatic mission notes that this is the first live-fire training exercise conducted by the 41st field artillery brigade of the US army outside its base in Grafenwehr (Germany). The brigade is the only US artillery support formation in Europe providing strategic, operational, and tactical fire support for the entire European command of the US armed forces.
The Russian Embassy in the United States said on Tuesday that it considers provocative and dangerous the US armed forces exercises taking place from September 1 to 10 in Estonia using multiple rocket launchers near the Russian borders.
