The United States will make the fight against corruption a key task of its foreign policy in the field of national security, with a special focus on encryption and cybersecurity. This is stated in a memorandum signed by President Joseph Biden, CNBC reports.
The efforts of US federal agencies will be more focused on corruption — first of all, we are talking about financial crimes. The measures are called ” steps to modernize the existing anti-corruption legislation»: this is required to combat criminals using cryptocurrencies and other new technologies.
“We look at cryptocurrencies as a way of financial fraud, in no way meaning to restrict new technologies,” a representative of the authorities told the TV channel.
It is noted that the anti-corruption policy direction is part of Biden’s foreign policy program, designed to act globally in the interests of the American middle class.
In April, Biden’s son Hunter admitted that he was able to get a high-paying job on the board of the Ukrainian gas producer Burisma thanks to his last name.
