Secretary of state Mike Pompeo announced this.
Thus, soon after a similar widely advertised delivery from Moscow, Washington switched roles with it.
Secretary of state Mike Pompeo announced the delivery by tweeting a photo of a military transport plane with the American flag and boxes with the logo of the US Agency for international development (USAID).
“The US is donating 200 American-made ventilators to the Russian people to help in the fight against COVID – 19,” Pompeo wrote.
“We have committed to sending more than 15,000 ventilators to more than 60 countries and continue to be a global leader in contributing to the fight against this pandemic,” he added.
The State Department has not yet responded to questions about whether the cargo has already been delivered to Russia or when it is planned to be delivered.
