The United States believes that Russia’s departure from the rules of openness of the WTO markets sets barriers to the export of American goods and services, this is stated in the report of the US trade representative on the implementation of Russia’s obligations under the WTO.
However, violations by Russia have not yet been recorded. The report says that if the United States finds that Russia is not acting in accordance with its WTO obligations, appropriate measures will be applied to our country. These measures will be aimed at keeping the Russian markets open for goods from the United States.
The US fears are caused by Russia’s policy of import substitution and support for local producers. As well as the lack of dialogue between countries.
