The British Defense Ministry said that the multinational initiative would allow Kyiv to work even more closely with NATO.
The UK will lead a multinational Maritime training Initiative aimed at improving the ability of the Ukrainian Navy to counter threats in the Black Sea.
This information was confirmed by the Minister of defense of the United Kingdom, Ben Wallace.
While visiting Ukrainian partners in Kyiv, Wallace also announced that the UK would send Royal Navy ships to the region in the autumn, where they will train alongside Ukrainian sailors.
“We have already helped thousands of Ukrainian military personnel master a variety of skills, from first aid to operational planning, that allows them to protect territorial integrity from Russian – backed separatists,” Wallace told reporters.
“Now the Maritime training Initiative will allow us to work even more closely with the NATO Alliance and armed forces around the world and will allow us to rely on Ukraine’s status as a partner of enhanced capabilities,” the Minister said.
