The U.S. Senate has issued an ultimatum on the “Nord stream-2”

Two Republicans from the U.S. Senate, Ted Cruz and Pat Toomey, have issued an ultimatum to Congress, saying that they will block the approval of candidates for the U.S. State Department and the U.S. Treasury Department if sanctions are not imposed on the operator of the “Nord stream-2” gas pipeline.

This is stated in their letter sent to both chambers.

Cruz and Toomey noted that if sanctions are imposed against the gas pipeline, they will withdraw their objections.

They called for “as soon as possible” to impose sanctions against Nord Stream 2 AG, “clearing the way for the approval of candidates.”
