The U.S. announced a decrease in the number of cyber-extortion

The US authorities are observing a decrease in the number of cyberattacks with ransom demands and expect the trend to consolidate, said Anne Neuberger, Deputy National Security Adviser to the U.S. President.

“First, we note a decrease in cyber-extortion… We note this trend and hope for its continuation,” she said at a briefing at the White House.

Earlier, the United States stated that Russian hackers, although not the Russian authorities, could be behind some major recent cyber extortion and called on Moscow to take action against them.
