The Trump administration out of the negotiations on the package of economic assistance

Negotiating with Democrats will be entrusted to the leader of the Republican majority in the Senate.

The Trump administration will withdraw from negotiations with Congress on an economic aid package, a Bloomberg News reporter said.

The administration decided to delegate further negotiations with house speaker Nancy Pelosi to the leader of the Republican majority in the Senate, Mitch McConnell, another Bloomberg journalist wrote on Twitter, citing sources.

Negotiations between Pelosi and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin have stretched over several months. They managed to agree on an amount of about $ 2 trillion, but the process stalled due to disagreements over expenditure items.

McConnell hopes to reach an agreement by the end of 2020.
