The fantastic action movie has disappointed critics and audiences alike.
Just a couple of days ago, a movie about the alien invasion and the war that followed it became available for viewing on Amazon’s streaming service. When humanity begins to lose the battle, scientists come to the rescue, who have developed technology that makes it possible to summon soldiers from the past.
The main character Dan Forester (Chris Pratt) is a high school history teacher and an exemplary family man. He travels from the present to 2051 to fight alien creatures and save the world for the sake of his little daughter. The film also stars Yvonne Strahovski, J.K.Simmons, Betty Gilpin, Sam Richardson, Edwin Hodge and others.
Tomorrow’s War earned early ratings on Rotten Tomatoes, with disappointing results. Of the 128 reviews left, only 52% were positive. And even those who liked the film agreed that the plot was superficial. Also, the majority felt that today “The Tomorrow War” looks out of date.
“Clichés are raining down as fast and furious as bullets,” wrote a critic from The New York Times about the new film starring Chris Pratt.
Her Comic Book colleague also criticized it: “It’s kind of a fun and easy journey that looks ripped out of the 90s, but even then it seemed to be a derivative of a more original sci-fi idea.”
