The Taliban entered the provincial capital in southwestern Afghanistan

Militants of the radical Taliban movement entered the Afghan city of Zaranj, the administrative center of Nimroz province in the southwest of the country, Free News reports, citing a local source.

Zaranj is located near the border with Iran, the road leading to the Iranian province of Sistan and Balochistan passes through it. According to the source, most of the city has already been captured by the Taliban.

The Afghan TV channel Tolo News published on Twitter footage showing armed men “engaged in looting public property” in Zaranja.
