Earlier, the Pentagon reported that the U.S. military launched an airstrike in the province of Nangarhar in eastern Afghanistan. Two high-ranking militants who participated in the planning of operations of the terrorist group “Islamic State” were killed with the help of a drone. According to the U.S. armed forces, civilians were not injured in the airstrike. The airstrike followed an August 26 terrorist attack near the Kabul airport that killed almost 200 people, including 13 American servicemen.
“The U.S. should have warned us before launching an airstrike. It was an obvious attack on the territory of Afghanistan. Two people were killed, two women and a child were injured,” a representative of the movement told Reuters.
He added that “very soon” the Kabul airport will be under full U.S. control.
