The Taliban blocked access to the Kabul airport

The al-Arabiya TV channel reports that the fighters of the radical Taliban movement do not allow Afghan citizens to get to the airport in Kabul.

“The Taliban movement does not allow citizens to get to the Kabul airport,” the TV channel informs.

Currently, all land border crossings from Afghanistan are controlled by the Taliban. The evacuation of foreign employees, including diplomats and Afghans working for foreign missions, has been carried out for several days through the only airport in Kabul, held by the military of the United States and other NATO countries.

U.S. Department of State spokesman Ned Price said that six thousand people are waiting to be sent from Kabul airport. It is expected that a virtual meeting of the foreign ministers of NATO member countries will be held on Friday on the situation in Afghanistan and the ongoing export of foreigners and residents from there.
