The suspect in the murders of eight people in the Atlanta area has been charged

The local prosecutor intends to seek the death penalty for 22-year-old Aaron Long.

A man suspected of killing eight people at three massage parlors in the Atlanta area has been formally charged.

Six of the eight victims were women of Asian descent.

The Fulton County prosecutor in Georgia said she will seek hate crime charges and a death penalty sentence after a grand jury formally charged 22-year-old Aaron Long with murder.

However, the indictment only concerns the deaths of four people at two massage parlors in Atlanta.

Another grand jury, in Cherokee County, will decide whether to file charges in connection with the shooting at a salon in the Atlanta suburb of Woodstock, in which four people were killed and one wounded.
