The State Department told about the planned meetings of Blinken in Kyiv

The Secretary of State will meet with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal, and members of the Verkhovna Rada.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will meet on Thursday with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal, as well as members of the Verkhovna Rada.

According to the schedule released by the State Department on Wednesday evening, the meeting with Ukrainian lawmakers is scheduled for 09:20. A meeting with Kuleba is scheduled for 09:40. Half an hour later, Blinken, along with Kuleba and the head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, which the Russian Orthodox Church does not recognize as a canonical status, Metropolitan Epiphany, will take part in a flower-laying ceremony in memory of the victims of the conflict in the Donbas. After that, the head of the State Department, together with Metropolitan Epiphany, will visit St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Monastery.

At 10:45, Blinken will have a meeting with Zelensky, after which the president and the Secretary of State will address the press. At 12:30, the head of the State Department will meet with the Ukrainian Prime Minister, after which he will take part in a round table to discuss the implementation of the reform program in Ukraine and the fight against corruption. The event will be held in an online format, the State Department does not give the list of participants. The last item in Blinken’s schedule is an online meeting with the staff of the American Embassy in Kyiv.
