The State Department requested twice much money to fight “Russian propaganda”

The US State Department is asking for $ 138 million in budget funds in 2021 to counter disinformation and propaganda from Russia, US Secretary of state Mike Pompeo said.

“The State Department is requesting $ 138 million for the Global Engagement Center, twice as much as it is now. We will not tolerate disinformation and propaganda that is spread by the Kremlin and other opponents,” Free News reported Pompeo’s words during a budget hearing in the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee.

Earlier, the American Associated Press and The New York Times published materials in which they groundlessly accused Russia of misinformation about the coronavirus pandemic.

Moscow has repeatedly denied accusations of misinformation about the pandemic. In particular, the Kremlin considered absurd accusations of misinformation on the situation with coronavirus in the EU.
