The State Department approved the sale of 105 F-35 fighters to Japan

The Ministry says that this will not change the military balance in the region.

The US State Department has approved the possible sale of 105 F-35 fighters to Japan at an estimated price of $ 23 billion.

According to the Ministry, Japan wants to buy 63 F-35A aircraft, 42 F-35B aircraft, 110 Pratt & Whitney F135 engines, and related equipment.

Implementation of the transaction, including technical support and maintenance, will take 25 years.

“US national interests need to help Japan develop and maintain a reliable and effective self – defense capability,” the State Department said, adding that the planned deal will not change the military balance in the region.
