Police have launched an investigation.

Police in New York is investigating an incident with the spilling of red paint on the inscription Black Lives Matter, which was previously applied on the street in front of the Trump Tower.

A Twitter user posted a video of an unknown masked man approaching the letter “V” in the Black Lives Matter inscription, taking a can of paint out of a paper bag and pouring paint on the legend on Fifth Avenue. After that, he throws the can and runs away.

A spokesman for the New York Police Department told the newspaper that a complaint of malicious damage was filed in connection with the incident, and an investigation has been launched.
New York City mayor Bill de Blasio said in connection with the incident that the movement “Black Lives Matter” “more than words, and it cannot be canceled.”
