The shooter stole a mail truck and opened fire on passers-by

An unknown man began to shoot bystanders from a stolen mail truck in the US state of Texas. ABC News reports citing police.

At least five people were killed in a shooting. The Associated Press reported, citing police.

According to the Agency, another 21 people were injured, including three police officers. Now, 14 people remain in hospitals.

The suspect was a 30-year-old white man. He was liquidated in the cinema of Odessa. Earlier it was assumed that there were two armed, but later it turned out that the shooter acted alone. The reasons for his action are unknown. According to CNN, the man opened fire after police stopped the car for inspection. He then stole a mail van and tried to escape.

There have been several mass shootings in the United States over the past month. On the night of Sunday, August 4, Connor Betts opened fire near a bar in downtown Dayton, Ohio. Nine people were killed and 27 others were injured. Two more shootings occurred in the cities of Chicago and El Paso. Because of the first attack, seven people were injured, as a result of the second — 20 people were killed, dozens more were injured.
