The scientist told how long the fight against the coronavirus will continue

The fight against coronavirus in the world will continue at least until the beginning of 2022, one of the most famous specialists in the treatment of lung diseases in India, Professor Arvind Kumar, told.

“I think that this virus will exist for many, many more months. I have always argued that everyone in India should be prepared for such a life to continue at least in the remaining months of 2021, if not in the first months of 2022. I think that the same situation will continue in the rest of the world,” he said.

“There is a well-known saying-no one is safe until everyone is safe. This also applies to the situation with the coronavirus, because more than 90% of the world’s population is not vaccinated. So far, mass vaccination has been carried out only in the United States and Europe, in many other countries, vaccination has not been carried out at a rapid pace. So, if the world is to defeat the coronavirus, then people should be vaccinated, and this takes a lot of time, purely because of logistics problems. Therefore, I do not see the possibility of the coronavirus disappearing soon – it will be with us at least until the end of 2021 or even in the first months of 2022,” Kumar said.

The COVID-19 pandemic has spread to almost all countries of the world. According to the latest data from Johns Hopkins University, the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in the world has exceeded the mark of 179 million; more than 3.8 million people have died.
