The Russian Ambassador to the United States is confident in the implementation of “Nord stream-2”

Despite new attempts by American politicians to stop the completion of the “Nord stream-2” project, the project will be implemented; such confidence was expressed during a conversation with journalists in Washington, Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov.

“In the last two days, the wave of economic sanctions against Russia in relation to “Nord stream-2″ has started again. I can say one thing: the project will be implemented, despite all the obstacles that the United States creates for us,” Antonov said.

The bill on sanctions against “Nord stream-2” was previously submitted to the US Senate. He proposes to impose sanctions against the insurers of the ships employed on the construction of a gas pipeline. The document was supported by five senators from both parties, including the influential Senator from Texas Ted Cruz.

The release quoted the words of the head of the Eastern Committee, top German Manager Oliver Hermes, who called the plans of the US Senate “a direct threat to legal security in the EU.” The sanctions against “Nord stream-2,” according to him, are aimed “against dozens of German and European enterprises.”
