The Russian Ambassador to Germany called the deadline for the completion of the construction of the “Nord stream-2”

Only a few weeks remain before the completion of the construction of the “Nord stream-2” gas pipeline, said Russian Ambassador to Germany Sergey Nechaev.

He also hopes that the agreement reached between the United States and Germany will not affect the progress of the work. The Ambassador noted that the joint statement of the two countries does not imply any obligations on the part of Russia.

Earlier, Germany and the United States made a joint statement on the gas pipeline and its impact on gas transit through Ukraine. The parties support the continuation of the transit of Russian gas after 2024. The Federal Republic of Germany undertakes to use all efforts and available means of influence to extend the contract. Also, according to media reports, the negotiations discussed Germany’s investments of up to a billion euros in the “green energy” of Ukraine.

“Nord stream-2” is a gas pipeline project with a length of more than 1,200 kilometers, which runs between Russia and Germany along the bottom of the Baltic Sea.
