The Turkish military during the exercises near the city of Sinop hit targets using S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems purchased from Russia, military and a diplomatic source said.
“Three S-400 missiles were launched during the exercise. All of them successfully hit the designated targets,” the source said.
Earlier, the Turkish press published a video of a rocket launch in the area of the Black sea Sinop, where S-400 air defense systems are allegedly being tested.
We will remind, the media reported that Turkey has transferred the Russian S-400 air defense system to the Black Sea province of Samsun, presumably for testing. The State Department said that Turkey’s acquisition of Russian S-400 air defense systems is a “major obstacle” in its relations with the United States.
Earlier it became known that for almost two years, members of the US Congress blocked deals on the sale of weapons to Turkey because of Ankara’s purchase of the S-400 air defense system.
