The release date of the series on “The Lord of the Rings” has been named

The premiere of the series is based on the fantasy epic novel by writer John Tolkien and the film trilogy “The Lord of the Rings,” directed by Peter Jackson, will take place on September 2, 2022. The release date was announced on the project’s Twitter account.

In the comments to the announcement, subscribers asked the creators of the series to avoid references to modern politics and trends. Internet users also discussed a frame from the series published in the account — two giant trees are visible on it, one of them is dark, the second is glowing. Fans have suggested that the picture shows Valinor, an area on the continent of Aman known as the “immortal lands.”

Previously, it was expected that the series, filmed for the Amazon Prime platform, will be released in 2021. The action of the TV show takes place before the events of the original film trilogy. The series has already become the most expensive in history.
