The possible cost of the American coronavirus vaccine was named

The cost of the coronavirus vaccine, which is being developed by the American company Moderna, can be about $ 50-60 per course. This is reported by the Financial Times, citing sources close to the company’s negotiations with potential buyers.

It is noted that such a price can be set for the sale of the vaccine within the country, as well as for export to countries with a high-income level of the population. At the same time, other companies that are also engaged in the development of the drug estimated the cost of their product cheaper. In particular, Pfizer and BioNTech called the price at $ 19.5 per dose, and AstraZeneca — $ 3-4.

According to one of the sources of the publication, the cost called Moderna makes it difficult to negotiate the purchase of the product, since other manufacturers have promised significantly lower prices. It is assumed that at the moment, it is not final.

Earlier, Moderna announced that it had started the third phase of clinical trials of the drug. Thirty thousand volunteers take part in them. US President Donald Trump allowed the possibility of exporting the American coronavirus vaccine to other countries.
