The Pentagon was unblocked after a shooting near the building

The US Department of Defense complex is returning to normal operation after a shooting incident at an adjacent transport interchange hub.

Employees and visitors of the Pentagon have again gained access to the complex and lined up at the security checkpoints. However, police, ambulance, and fire protection vehicles continue to stand in the vicinity.

The Free News correspondent managed to get only to the parking lot 100 meters from the building, where police officers stopped him.

According to media reports, three people, including a police officer, were injured in the shooting that occurred outside the complex – in the area of bus stops and a metro station. The suspect was neutralized in a shootout; it follows the reports, which the authorities have not yet commented on.

Due to the incident, which is not the first in this area, security forces blocked access to the Pentagon and suspended the movement of trains on the “blue” branch of the Washington metro.
