The terrorist organization “Islamic state” is building up an underground network in Iraq and Syria. This is stated in the report of the Inspector General of the US defense Ministry Glenn Fine.
In particular, it became known that from April to July 2019, the terrorists continued the tactics of abandoning the territories in favor of rebel activity. ISIS carried out murders, used suicide bombers, kidnapped people, and destroyed crops. In addition, the Islamists again began to build up their financial network, which allowed to revive the militant cells in Syria and expand their command and control points in Iraq.
The Pentagon also admitted that in the Syrian refugee camp “al-Khol” are numerous supporters of the IS.
US President Donald Trump announced the withdrawal of US troops from Syria in connection with his announced “final victory” over the “Islamic state” in December 2018. At the same time, it was pointed out that there were no clear deadlines, and some of the militaries would remain to protect Israel. The US military contingent has been operating in the country since 2014 without the consent of its government.
