The organizers of the Golden Globes promised to add 13 black people to the team

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), which annually awards the Golden Globe Awards, has promised to add 13 new black participants after it became known that there are no black people on the jury, FOX News reports.

In February, the Los Angeles Times reported that among the 87 members of the association, which is made up of journalists, there is no single black person.

According to the association’s statement, which was made available to the TV channel, the HFPA board intends to “make the necessary changes within the organization and in the industry as a whole.”

“We also recognize that we should have done more before. As an indication of our commitment, the board unanimously approved a plan to increase the number of members this year to at least 100, with a requirement that at least 13% of the members be black journalists,”

the statement said.
