The number of cases of COVID-19 in the United States increased by 30 thousand per day

The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in the United States over the past day increased by 30,141, 665 people died, according to Johns Hopkins University, which summarizes data from federal and local authorities, as well as the media and other open sources.

A day earlier, US doctors recorded 29,293 cases of COVID-19 and 655 deaths.

The largest daily increase in coronavirus infections in the United States – about 300 thousand – was registered at the beginning of the year. In January, the country also recorded the maximum daily increase in COVID deaths – more than 4.3 thousand deaths. Such indicators were reported by Hopkins University. In total, since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 33 million infected people have been identified in the United States, and more than 588.5 thousand patients with COVID-19 have died.
