The number of administered doses of COVID-19 vaccines in the world has exceeded one billion

According to estimates by Agence France-Presse, more than a billion doses of coronavirus vaccines have been administered to people around the world, citing data from official sources.

According to the agency, the number of vaccine doses administered to residents of 207 countries and territories was 1,002,938,540.

The United States, China, and India lead the way in terms of vaccination rates. These countries account for 58% of vaccinations.

Earlier, the Bloomberg agency reported that approximately 4.22 million doses are administered per day in the world. It will take years to reach a significant level of global immunity at this rate of vaccination, the agency noted. Still, the rate of vaccination is constantly increasing, and new vaccines may soon be available.
