The new president of FC Barcelona has become known

Joan Laporta won the Barcelona presidential elections. This was reported on the website of the Spanish team.

More than 55 thousand people took part in the voting. According to the results of processing 100 per cent of ballots, the winner scored 54.28 per cent. His closest rival, Victor Fonta, scored 29.99 per cent. In third place was Anthony Frisch. He was supported by 8.58 per cent of voters.

The elections were held on Sunday, March 7th. It is noted that the current vote was the second voter turnout, despite the restrictions associated with the coronavirus pandemic.

Laporta’s predecessor as Barcelona president was Josep Bartomeu. The functionary resigned last October. The reason was the vote of no confidence passed to him. Laporta was president of the Blue Garnet from 2003 to 2010.
