The American company Chrysler, which owns the Dodge brand, is preparing to launch an updated model of the Dodge Durango car. The car has undergone not only visual but also technical changes, thanks to which it has become the most powerful crossover in the world.
Externally, the new Durango differs from the previous version with a radiator grill with smaller cells, other bumpers, narrowed LED headlights, and a large rear spoiler. The design of the dashboard, which will now be turned at a slight angle by the center console towards the driver, has also been completely redesigned.
Electronic filling Dodge Durango also did not disappoint. The machine has a Uconnect 5 media system with an 8.4 or 10.1-inch touch screen (depending on the version). Its speed is five times higher than that of the previous version of the multimedia system.
The least powerful Durango modifications received the same engine as before – a six-cylinder Pentastar with a volume of 3.6 liters and a capacity of 299 horsepower. For modifications of Citadel and R/T, a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine is available, which is capable of delivering 335 hp. The Dodge Durango SRT 392 version will receive a 6.4-liter eight-cylinder engine with 435 hp.
But the main “bomb” was the modification of the Durango SRT Hellcat. She received a Hemi V8 6.2 with a screw compressor, which is capable of delivering 720 horsepower. This is more than the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, which previously bore the title of the most powerful car in its class. The new SRT Hellcat differs from the Durango SRT version in its front design: additional air ducts for cooling oil radiators and a splitter (special aerodynamic divider).
The SRT Hellcat accelerates from zero to 100 km / h in just 3.5 seconds, and its top speed is 290 km / h. The machine can accommodate up to seven passengers and tow a trailer weighing four tons.
The first orders for SRT Hellcat will begin to be taken this fall. It will be possible to purchase a car in this design only until the middle of summer next year, so this modification should be considered limited.
