The crisis situation in Venezuela deteriorated significantly on Tuesday, April 30. The opposition leader Juan Guaido announced the end of the regime of President Nicolas Maduro; police used tear gas and military vehicles against demonstrators.

The United States stated the support of the actions of Guaido.

“Today, the interim President Juan Guaido announced the beginning of “Operation Freedom”. The US government fully supports the desire of the Venezuelan people for freedom and democracy,” US Secretary of state Mike Pompeo wrote on his Twitter.

At the same time, the government of President Maduro announced the “attempted military coup” by soldiers associated with the opposition.

In the Venezuelan capital of Caracas near the base of the “La Carlota,” the police used the protesters tear gas against supporters of Guaido.

The Venezuelan National Guard, loyal to Maduro, entered the crowd of demonstrators in Caracas in armored vehicles, as a result of which there are victims.
