The media reported on the growth of Macron’s popularity against the background of coronavirus

The popularity ratings of French President Emmanuel Macron and Prime Minister Edouard Philippe are growing against the background of the coronavirus pandemic, Journal du Dimanche reports.

The President’s popularity has increased by 11 percentage points over the past month to 43 percent. Philip’s rating increased by 6 percentage points.

According to the publication’s calculations, approval of Macron’s activities increased among all categories, including by 13 percentage points among traditionally hostile “public sector employees,” by 17 percentage points – among citizens over 65 years of age and by 27 points – among supporters of the Republican Party.

However, “paradoxically,” according to the publication, the distrust of French citizens to the measures of the Executive power to combat the coronavirus is growing.
The number of cases in France, according to the latest data, is 37,575 people, the total number of deaths in hospitals – 2314.
