The role of Galadriel will be played by actress Morfidd Clarke. In Peter Jackson’s films, this role was played by Cate Blanchett. Earlier, the media reported that the main villain in the series will be Joseph Mole, possibly talking about the role of Sauron. In the trilogy “The Lord of the Rings” this role was played by Sala Baker, and in the trilogy “The Hobbit” – by Benedict Cumberbatch. There is no information about the performer of the role of Elrond.
The performer of the role of Frodo in the trilogy, Elijah Wood, answered the question if he would like to star in the series:
If it was possible to create a world in which it looked organic, then definitely yes. Listen, give me an excuse to get to New Zealand and take part in the filming, and consider that I am already there. And don’t think I’m a bore, but the title of the series “The Lord of the Rings” misleads viewers. The events of the series take place much earlier, in the Second Age of Middle-earth.
