The Japanese government has decided to pay locals € 169 for each day of travel around the country to restore the tourism industry. They plan to launch the Go To Travel initiative from the end of July 2020.
Subsidies will cover approximately half the cost of travel. They will be issued with vouchers that can be used in restaurants and shops, and only to those who book Japanese hotels directly or through an agency. The trip itself will have to pay for yourself.
On Monday, Japan completely abolished the emergency regime. For all the time, 16.6 thousand cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in the country. Almost 14 thousand people have already been cured, 858 – have died.
