The most difficult epidemic situation has developed in India, where on Monday, the authorities reported a new high – more than 273.8 thousand new cases of infection in the last 24 hours. Simultaneously, more than 200 thousand cases have been detected in the country for five days in a row. Now India accounts for about 30% of the total number of people infected with coronavirus per day in the world.

The Ministry of Health of the country informed on April 15 that the coronavirus was detected in 14 million people in the country, and in just four days, there were already more than 15 million of them. Over the past week, more than 1.5 million cases of infection were registered there – about the same number as in the entire time of the pandemic in South Africa (1.56 million). In terms of the total number of infected people, India ranks second globally in terms of the number of deaths (178.7 thousand) in fourth place.

In Turkey, in the last four days, the incidence is kept at a level above 60 thousand cases. These figures are twice as high as the previous highs recorded in December last year. The total number of infected people in the country exceeded 4.26 million, which is the seventh place globally.

For a week and a half in Iran, the number of new cases has consistently exceeded the mark of 20 thousand. On April 16, more than 25.5 thousand infected people were registered. The highest level since the beginning of the year was reached by the death rate, which is gradually approaching the peak values of November last year.

In the United States, since the end of last week, more than 70 thousand cases of infection are detected per day; at the peak in January this year, this figure exceeded 300 thousand. The United States ranks first in the number of infected (31.67 million) and deaths due to the coronavirus (567.2 thousand).

At the level of 70-80 thousand, the incidence in Brazil is kept, a week ago it was at the highest level – more than 90 thousand. In terms of the number of infected (13.94 million), the largest country in South America ranks third in the world, in terms of the number of deaths (373.3 thousand).) it is in second place.

Among European countries, the highest infection rates are now in France, where more than 30 thousand infected people are registered per day. In Germany, at the same time, the indicators have increased to the highest since the beginning of the year – in recent days, covid is confirmed in more than 20 thousand residents.

In Poland, the incidence dropped to the level of 15-17 thousand per day; in March, it was twice as high. However, the death rate reached the maximum level for the country – more than 800 deaths per day.

In relative terms, the highest rates remain in the Czech Republic, where there are 14.9 thousand infected and 265 deaths per 100 thousand inhabitants.
