The head of the Pentagon postponed a visit to Saudi Arabia

U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin postponed a visit to Saudi Arabia scheduled for this week due to problems with his schedule, the U.S. Department of Defense told.

“The Minister’s trip to Saudi Arabia was postponed due to inconsistencies in the schedule. He looks forward to the opportunity to re-approve his visit as soon as possible,” the Pentagon told the agency.

This week, Austin is making a trip to the Persian Gulf countries that helped Washington in the evacuation and transit of about 123 thousand people from Afghanistan. The Pentagon chief has already visited Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain, and the final point of his Middle East tour was supposed to be Riyadh.
