The head of a hospital in Wuhan, China, died of pneumonia caused by a new type of coronavirus. The Global Times reported on its Twitter account. Information about the doctor’s death also appeared on Reuters, citing Chinese state television.
The death occurred on the morning of Tuesday, February 18, the Agency said. According to The Global Times, he became the first medical facility Manager to die from a coronavirus outbreak.
Reports of the doctor’s death appeared earlier. A Chinese newspaper reported, but the message was later deleted. Subsequently, the Daily Mail denied information about the death of the hospital Director, saying that he is still being treated.

The city of Wuhan in Hubei province became the epicenter, from where a new type of coronavirus began spreading in December 2019. The virus soon spread to other regions of the country, as well as abroad. According to the latest data, its victims were more than 1,860 people; the number of cases of infection exceeded 72 thousand.
