The Grand Canyon is closed because of the coronavirus

Earlier the infection was detected in one of the employees of the National Park.

The Grand Canyon National Park announced its closure due to a request from the Coconino County health authorities.

The press release states that the Park will close immediately until further notice.

Earlier, it was announced that the first case of coronavirus infection in the Grand Canyon was detected in a Park employee.

Residents of the southern edge of the Grand Canyon posted photos on social media of barriers that are being installed along roads to prevent people from entering the Park.
