The Governor of New York State spoke about the rate of death from coronavirus

The number of coronavirus victims in New York State increased by 783 per day and reached 8627, Governor Andrew Cuomo said at a press conference.

New York State is at the epicenter of the coronavirus epidemic in the United States. Statistics cited by the Governor indicated that the state has been losing about 700 people every day for five days.

“The terrible news concerns the number of deaths. We lost 783 people yesterday,” Cuomo said. The day before, 777 people died in the state during the day.
“The death rate has stabilized at an appalling level,” the Governor said.

He indicated that a total of 8,627 people died in the state.

According to the Governor, 799 people died on April 8, 779 people died on April 7, and 731 people died on April 6.

According to the Governor, “the hospitalization curve is reaching a plateau”: over the past four days, the number of hospitalized people has increased from 18079 to 18654. As Cuomo pointed out, the number of people connecting to a ventilator is declining.
