According to the Ministry of public security, the Canadian authorities extended the previously imposed restrictions on entry to the country for foreign citizens until January 21 in connection with the coronavirus pandemic.
“Restrictions on entry to Canada from countries other than the United States will be extended until January 21, 2021,” the Department said in a statement posted on Twitter.
The Ministry also confirmed that US citizens would be able to visit the country after December 21.
This measure was introduced on March 16 due to the coronavirus epidemic. It does not apply to US citizens and permanent residents of Canada. Exceptions also include diplomats, immediate family members of Canadians, and certain categories of seasonal workers and international students.
According to the latest data, the number of infected COVID-19 in the country has reached 370 thousand people. More than ten patients died, and more than 294 thousand patients were cured.
