The French Minister named her cat Brexit because of his indecision

Minister of European Affairs at the French foreign Minister Natalie Loiseau decided to call his cat Brexit because of his indecision. This was reported by the weekly Le Journal du Dimanche.

Loiseau oversees in France issues related to the UK’s exit from the European Union, the terms of which have long been agreed by London and Brussels, and now can not approve the British Parliament. Apparently, the behavior of politicians from the UK reminded the French Minister of the habits of her pet.

“He wakes me up every morning with his agonizing meow, because he wants to go out to the street, but when I open the door, he, hesitant, remains in place and throws his gloomy look at me,” said Loiseau, whose words the publication cites. “I finally named my cat Brexit,” the Minister said.

Natalie Loiseau holds the post of Minister for European Affairs at MFA of France in 2017. A few days ago, she expressed her desire to become a candidate in the elections to the European Parliament, which will be held on May 26.

Recall, on March 14, the British Parliament supported the government’s proposal to postpone the date of withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union (“Brexit”) at a later date. Now the British government should send a request to the EU on the so-called technical postponement of the “Brexit” date until June 30, if the House of Commons will be able to approve until March 20 a draft agreement on the terms of “Brexit”, which was achieved by British Prime Minister Theresa May during negotiations with Brussels.
