The former head of U.S. intelligence identified the “main threat” from Russia

The danger of Russia for the United States lies in Moscow’s alleged desire to destabilize the situation in the United States and sow discord in Congress. The former head made this statement of the National Center for Counterintelligence and Security of the United States, William Evanina.

He also accused China of joining forces with the Russian Federation and proving “malicious influence” at the state level.

According to the former head of counterintelligence, Russia is involved in illegal activities in cyberspace, large-scale campaigns in social networks.

He also called for the creation of a special unit in the intelligence service to plan ways to protect against the actions of Russia and China.

Western countries have repeatedly accused the Russian Federation of cyberattacks. In Russia, such statements are refuted.
