The first seasonal hurricane formed in the center of the Pacific Ocean

Storm Douglas strengthened to a hurricane – the first in the Central Pacific this year, the US national hurricane warning center (NHC) said.

As expected, the hurricane may affect the US state of Hawaii on the archipelago in the Pacific Ocean this weekend.

The wind speed in the center of the hurricane is about 120 km/h.

“Additional strengthening is expected in the next day or two,” the NHC warns.
