Melania, who turned 50 this year, rarely appears at rallies and meetings with Trump voters. The last time she spoke in support of her husband’s nomination for President of the United States in August, at the Republican Party Convention.

“Donald is a fighter. He loves this country and fights for you every day,” she said, addressing supporters of the incumbent in Pennsylvania, a key state in the upcoming election.

Her plans to travel with Donald Trump to one of the meetings with voters last week were disrupted due to a “lingering cough” left after treatment for the coronavirus that infected the country’s first couple and their youngest son Barron.

“Thank you for all the love and support you had given when our family was diagnosed COVID-19 – she said on Tuesday – we now feel much better.”

“For the first time in history, the citizens of this country can directly and instantly hear the words of their President every day through social media,” she said, -“I don’t always agree with the way he talks about things… But he needs to speak directly to the people.”

She emphasized Joe Biden’s personal qualities as a loving father and a determined fighter who can cope with the tragedy. Biden’s son, Beau Biden, a former Delaware Attorney General, died of brain cancer in 2015 while his father was Vice President.

“How to collect a broken family? Just like the country – with love and understanding, small acts of compassion, bravery and unwavering faith,” said Jill Biden.

“Sometimes, I don’t understand how he managed to do it – how he could barely move his legs but keep walking,” she continued. – But I always understood why he did it. He’s doing it for you.”
