The FBI is investigating the hacking of the Washington police computer network by unknown persons

The US FBI has launched an investigation into the hacking of the Metropolitan Police’s computer servers by unknown hackers. This is stated in a statement issued on Monday by the press service of the Washington police.

“We are aware of unauthorized access to our [computer] server. While we establish the full extent of the impact of [the cyberattack] and continue to analyze the activities of [hackers in the computer system], we have engaged the FBI to conduct a comprehensive investigation of this problem,” the statement reads. According to the American media, we are talking about a computer virus, with which attackers extort funds.
