The fate of 159 people remains unknown after the collapse of a house in Miami, local authorities said.

“The number of people whose location has not been established has increased to 159,” said the mayor of Miami – Dade County, Daniella Levine Cava, during a press conference.

According to Cava, the death toll has now reached four people. The authorities said that the search and rescue operation is continuing.

A multi-storey building partially collapsed in the town of Surfside, part of the territory of Miami (Florida). The authorities reported that about half of the 130 apartments located in it were destroyed; more than 80 rescue teams were sent to the scene of the incident. Now it is known about the rescue of about 40 people.
