The EU has threatened sanctions over the situation with Navalny

The European Union reserves the right to impose sanctions over the incident with Alexey Navalny, according to a statement by the head of European diplomacy Josep Borrel.

“The EU strongly condemns the attempt <…> and calls on Russia to fully cooperate with the Organization for the prohibition of chemical weapons to ensure an impartial international investigation,” the report says.

Borrel stressed that the European States would continue to “closely monitor” the situation.
