The Ethics Committee has launched an investigation into Congressman Matt Gaetz

It is reported that the US Department of Justice is also conducting the investigation.

The Ethics Committee of the House of Representatives of the US Congress, which Democrats control, said that it had launched an investigation into Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz, who, in particular, is suspected of sexual crimes and the use of illegal drugs.

The Committee’s leaders – a Democrat and a Republican – issued a statement indicating that they were aware of the allegations against Gaetz and that Gates – a supporter of former US President Donald Trump – may have violated Congressional rules, laws, or rules of conduct.

According to anonymous sources of information, the US Department of Justice is investigating Gaetz, who is suspected of violating the laws, because, allegedly, he paid for the travel of a 17-year-old girl with whom he was in a romantic relationship.

According to the Ethics Committee statement, Gates is also suspected of allegedly showing indecent photos and videos in the Capitol building, using election funds for personal purposes, accepting bribes, etc.

The congressman has not been charged and denies any wrongdoing. Gates ‘ office issued a statement calling the suspicions “outright lies.”
